Report: Newcastle United consider move for Swansea City's Jonjo Shelvey

Newcastle United will reportedly move for Swansea City midfielder Jonjo Shelvey in the transfer window.

Newcastle United are reportedly considering a move for Swansea City midfielder Jonjo Shelvey.

The 23-year-old has worked his way back into the England side, but his performances have gone under the radar during Swansea's poor spell.

According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle boss Steve McClaren has decided that he wants Shelvey to be part of his squad, telling the board to launch a bid for the midfielder.

Shelvey, who signed a new four-year deal at Swansea in the summer, will miss this weekend's match against his former club Liverpool due to suspension.
