Nottingham Forest extend unbeaten run with Millwall draw

Championship leader Nottingham Forest extend their unbeaten start to the season after a 0-0 draw with Millwall.

Championship leaders Nottingham Forest have extended their unbeaten start to the season after playing out a goalless draw with Millwall this afternoon.

A bright start from Forest saw Michail Antonio's powerful low effort fizz wide of David Forde's goal, but the away side were lucky not to concede a penalty after Jermaine Easter was challenged in the box by Kelvin Wilson.

The game often took on a frantic pace as the half went on, with Mark Beevers having to be alert to turn Jack Hunt's cross towards Britt Assombalonga away from harm.

The dangerous Assombalonga then headed straight at the keeper from Henri Lansbury's free kick, but the striker was offside in any case.

Following the restart, Millwall's Martyn Woolford was presented with a great chance to make it 1-0, but he smashed the ball just wide when well placed to score.

Forest keeper Karl Darlow then produced a crucial reflex save to prevent Mathias Ranegie from giving Millwall the lead as the hosts looked to find a way past the stubborn visiting defence.

Assombalonga came close to snatching Forest a dramatic late victory, but his header was scrambled off the line.
