Jadon Sancho, who is on the verge of returning to Borussia Dortmund on loan, is reportedly not ready to 'completely give up' on his Manchester United career.

Jadon Sancho is reportedly not ready to 'completely give up' on his Manchester United career, with the attacker open to a fresh start at Old Trafford at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.

The 23-year-old has not played for the 20-time English champions since the end of August, as his relationship with head coach Erik ten Hag broke down after the forward was left out against Arsenal at the start of September.

Ten Hag said that Sancho had been dropped from the matchday squad at the Emirates Stadium due to some poor performances in training, but the ex-Manchester City youngster insisted that was not the case, claiming that he had been made "a scapegoat" in a post on social media.

Sancho has not been involved in the first team since, and he is now on the verge of re-joining Borussia Dortmund on loan for the second half of the season.

Reports last week had claimed that BVB would have the chance to re-sign the forward on a permanent basis this summer, but it is understood that there will not be a purchase option.

A broad agreement over a loan deal has allegedly now been agreed between Man United and Dortmund, with a switch expected to be confirmed by the end of the weekend.

According to inews, Sancho is not ready to give up on his career at Old Trafford, and the situation will be revisited this summer, with the player potentially having a route back.

Much is likely to depend on Ten Hag, who is under pressure to deliver results in the second half of the campaign, with Man United already suffering 14 defeats during the 2023-24 season.

Dortmund will allegedly pay between 30% and 40% of Sancho's wages, with the Red Devils still contributing the majority of his salary until the summer.

Sancho is expected to link up with Dortmund in Marbella for their winter training camp, as he attempts to build his fitness following a period out of the first-team picture.

The Englishman arrived at Old Trafford from BVB in the summer of 2021, but he has struggled to make his mark for the club.

Sancho has only managed 12 goals and six assists in 82 appearances for Man United, but he contributed 50 goals and 64 assists in 137 outings during his time at Dortmund.

The forward has a contract at Old Trafford until June 2026, with the option of a further 12 months, and it is understood that the Red Devils made it clear to interested clubs that he would not be allowed to leave for a cut-price fee in the winter market.
