Report: Nathaniel Clyne 'will join Manchester United'

Former Arsenal midfielder Stewart Robson believes that Southampton defender Nathaniel Clyne will sign for Manchester United in the summer.

Former Arsenal midfielder Stewart Robson believes that Nathaniel Clyne will sign for Manchester United in the summer.

The Southampton defender has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford, and hinted at an exit yesterday.

Clyne started both of England's games a few weeks ago, and is reportedly a target for Louis van Gaal, who has deployed midfielder Antonio Valencia at right-back.

Robson told ESPN: "Nathaniel Clyne is a good player. He can get crosses into the box, he's got great pace and he's a good one-on-one defender. He's even scored a couple of good goals.

"I think next season Nathaniel Clyne will be a Manchester United right-back."

Southampton are next in action at Stoke City in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
