Brighton & Hove Albion are confident of keeping hold of Alexis Mac Allister during the January transfer window, according to a report.

Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly confident of keeping hold of in-demand attacker Alexis Mac Allister during the January transfer window.

The 24-year-old has been in strong form for the Seagulls during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring five goals in 14 Premier League appearances.

Meanwhile, the midfielder played a leading role in Argentina's success at the 2022 World Cup, featuring in every one of their six games at the competition, scoring once and providing one assist.

Mac Allister's form in Qatar has led to a host of speculation surrounding his future, with a number of clubs said to be keen to sign him during the winter market.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United have been credited with an interest, while Atletico Madrid and Juventus are said to be keeping an eye on developments.

However, according to The Athletic, Brighton are confident that they will be able to keep hold of the attacker beyond the end of the winter market.

The report claims that the Seagulls have not yet received a bid for him, while there is no release clause in his contract, which is due to run until 2025, with the option of a further 12 months.

Mac Allister made the move to Brighton from Argentinos Juniors in 2019, and he has represented the English side on 86 occasions in all competitions, contributing 13 goals and six assists in the process.

Clubs are believed to have already been looking at the Argentine before his exploits at the World Cup.

Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi recently said that he was determined to keep both Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo during the winter market.

"I would like to keep all our players here, and I would like to add some too," De Zerbi told reporters. "My hope is that Caicedo and Mac Allister will stay with us. But at the moment I only think about Arsenal. It will be very difficult," he said before the clash with Arsenal.

Caicedo's future is also being called into question, with Liverpool said to be considering a move for the central midfielder before the end of the January window.

Mac Allister was granted extra time off following his involvement in the World Cup final, so he has missed his side's last two Premier League matches with Southampton and Arsenal.
