Manchester United 'deny Zinedine Zidane negotiations'

Manchester United reportedly rubbish speculation that they have already been in contact with Zinedine Zidane over possibly replacing manager Jose Mourinho.

Manchester United have reportedly denied suggestions that they have already begun negotiations with Zinedine Zidane regarding the possibility of taking over from Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have lost three of their opening seven Premier League matches this season, most recently going down 3-1 at the hands of West Ham United on Saturday.

The London Stadium defeat capped off a miserable week in which United were also held by Wolverhampton Wanderers and beaten at home by Derby County in the EFL Cup, while rumours of a major fallout with Paul Pogba continue to swirl around the club.

Mourinho's future has come under intense scrutiny as a result, and just hours after the defeat to West Ham, speculation emerged that United have held initial talks with former Real Madrid boss Zidane.

However, The Mirror claims that a senior United source has rubbished the reports, with the club's hierarchy still willing to give Mourinho time to turn things around.

Zidane has been out of work since leaving Real in the summer, just days after leading them to a third successive Champions League title.
