Laurent Blanc 'wants Manchester United job'

Former France boss Laurent Blanc is reportedly keen on replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as head coach of Manchester United.

Former Manchester United centre-back Laurent Blanc is reportedly keen on replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as head coach of the Red Devils.

Solskjaer signed a long-term contract to become United's new head coach earlier this year after impressing while in charge of the 20-time English champions on an interim basis.

The Red Devils have made their worst start to a top-flight campaign for 30 years, though, and there is already believed to be pressure on their current boss.

A recent report claimed that Blanc was interested in continuing his managerial career in England after spells in charge of Bordeaux, France and Paris Saint-Germain.

According to Footmercato, the job at Old Trafford appeals to the 53-year-old most, and he is closely monitoring developments in Manchester with the view to making himself available for the role.

Blanc, who has been without a position since leaving PSG at the end of the 2015-16 season, finished his playing career with United in 2003 - making 75 appearances for the club over the course of two seasons.
