Sports Mole looks at Marcus Rashford's record against Wolverhampton Wanderers ahead of Manchester United's trip to Molineux.

Marcus Rashford is expected to be back in the Manchester United squad for Thursday's Premier League clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.

The England international was not included in the squad for the FA Cup clash with Newport County on Sunday due to illness, with the forward unable to train on Friday.

Rashford was pictured out in Belfast on Wednesday and Thursday evening before returning to Manchester on Friday morning, but he said that he was too unwell to train.

Man United head coach Erik ten Hag said on Wednesday that the 'case was now closed', with the 26-year-old 'taking responsibility' for his actions, and he is expected to be back in the squad for the clash at Molineux.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Rashford, who has scored in his last two Premier League appearances against Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur, has performed against Wolves in the past.

Rashford has faced Wolves on eight occasions during his professional career, boasting a record of four wins, two draws and two defeats against them, scoring three times and providing one assist.

The Red Devils academy product has only actually tackled Wolves five times in the Premier League, with his record standing at three victories, one draw and one defeat, scoring twice and registering one assist.

Rashford has also locked horns with the English side three times in the FA Cup, scoring in a 2-1 defeat for the Red Devils in the sixth round of the 2018-19 competition.

The forward failed to register against Wolves during their two FA Cup meetings, one of which was a replay, during the 2019-20 competition, but he came off the bench in both games to help his side reach the fourth round.

Rashford has actually missed five Premier League games against Wolves due to a mixture of suspension and injuries, including last season, being absent from his side's 2-0 success at Old Trafford due to a fitness issue.

The attacker's first-ever league goal against Wolves came in a 1-0 Man United win at Old Trafford during the 2020-21 campaign, while he netted in his side's 1-0 success at Molineux in the league last term.

Rashford also played 88 minutes of the clash between the two sides at Old Trafford at the start of this season, which the 20-time English champions won 1-0 courtesy of a late header from Raphael Varane.

The forward has only managed four goals and six assists during a disappointing campaign to date, but he could have the chance to pay back the club on Thursday after the unsavoury events of the last week.
