Southampton reportedly identify Manchester City youngster Liam Delap as a potential summer transfer target.

Manchester City youngster Liam Delap has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Southampton.

The 19-year-old has endured an injury-hit campaign at the Etihad Stadium, being restricted to just three substitute appearances in all competitions.

Although 10 outings have been made at Premier League 2 level, City boss Pep Guardiola is keen for the prospect to receive regular first-team football.

Despite missing out on a stint with Stoke City during 2022-23, The Sun claims that Southampton are willing to hand the England Under-19 international a temporary home in the Premier League.

The Saints have been well stocked for forward options this campaign having taken Chelsea youngster Armando Broja on a season-long loan deal.

With the Albania international due back at Stamford Bridge, it appears that Delap could be his replacement, although the Englishman is expected to be a wide array of options ahead of next season.
