Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has refused to comment on speculation linking Borussia Dortmund star Erling Braut Haaland with a move to the Etihad Stadium.

The 21-year-old striker is understood to have passed a medical ahead of a proposed €60m (£51.4m) move to the Citizens, and an official announcement of the transfer could me made this week.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of City's Premier League trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday, Guardiola refused to deny the rumours regarding Haaland's future, but insisted that he is "not allowed" to talk until the potential deal is finalised.

"Everybody knows the situation, I shouldn't talk because I don't like to talk about the future or next season," the Spaniard told reporters on Tuesday.

"Dortmund and Man City told me I'm not allowed to say anything until it's completely done. We'll have time to talk.

"I'd love to talk honestly, but I can't. They tell me don't say anything until the legal actions [are done]. We'll have time to talk, It's not because I don't want, it because I can't."

It is understood that Haaland has told Dortmund that he wishes to leave the club this summer, with Man City his preferred destination.

The Norway international has allegedly agreed to sign a five-year contract at the Etihad until June 2027, and is set to earn no more than the club's highest earner Kevin De Bruyne, who is pocketing in the region of £375,000 per week.

Haaland's former Red Bull Salzburg coach Jesse Marsch, who is currently in charge at Leeds United, has also spoken about the striker, stating that he is "destined" to develop into one of the world's best players at Man City.
