Everton preparing move for West Ham United outcast Reece Oxford?

A report claims that Everton are preparing an offer for West Ham United's Reece Oxford ahead of the January transfer window.

West Ham United youngster Reece Oxford may be offered a Premier League lifeline by Everton, according to a report.

The 20-year-old has been told by boss Manuel Pellegrini that his chances of regular first-team football at the London Stadium are limited.

Oxford came through United's academy but has made just 17 appearances for the club in all competitions since his breakthrough at the start of the 2014-15 season, eight of those in the top flight.

News of the England age-grade international being allowed to leave West Ham is believed to have led to interest from Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund, who have sent scouts to watch him up close for the club's Under-23s side in recent weeks.

The Daily Mail suggests that Everton could step forward with an offer next month, knowing that the former Reading and Borussia Monchengladbach loanee qualifies as a homegrown player.

Oxford will only consider a permanent exit from West Ham, having seen his career stutter on the back of his two previous loan spells.
