What next for Luis Suarez?

With Luis Suarez eager to secure a move away from Liverpool, Sports Mole looks at the potential destinations for the Uruguay international.

As late as April, Luis Suarez went on the record to insist that he was happy at Liverpool and provided a strong indication that he was more than willing to remain at Anfield next season.

However, just two months later and while on international duty with Uruguay, the 26-year-old risked the wrath of Liverpool supporters by admitting that he was eager for a move away this summer.

"My reason for leaving is not the money. If it were the money I would have left already," Suarez said yesterday afternoon. "It is for my family and my image, that is my priority now. I don't feel comfortable here anymore.

"I couldn't go to the garden or the supermarket. I couldn't do anything. All the silly things they said about me - all the pictures and the taunts. No-one supported me."

Liverpool have since stated that their leading goalscorer is "not for sale", but as so often is the case, the player tends to hold the majority of the power.

With that in mind, Sports Mole has assessed the options that could be available to Liverpool's talisman.

Real Madrid

It appears that the Spanish capital may very well be Suarez's first choice following his recent revelation that he would find it "hard to say no" should Los Blancos come calling for his services. And call they might, particularly with reports having linked both Karim Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain with departures from the Bernabeu. It was claimed that Real were keen on Radamel Falcao from city rivals Atletico, but he has opted for the sunshine and tax-free living that Moncao provides. All of which could pave the way for a move for Suarez to the Whites, who having parted company with Jose Mourinho, will be keen to make a big money signing to show that they still mean business.

Bayern Munich

On the surface, a move to the German and European champions may look unlikely. They already have Mario Mandzukic and if you believe what you read, Borussia Dortmund's Roberto Lewandowski will soon be arriving at the Allianz Arena. However, news of Suarez's desire to leave the Premier League may prompt Bayern to cool their interest in the Polish international. After all, incoming Bayern boss Pep Guardiola will have the inside track when it comes to Suarez's situation because his brother, Pere, is the Uruguayan's agent. A bit of brotherly love and who knows - Suarez could be wearing the red of the Bavarians next year.

Paris Saint-Germain

Like their Ligue 1 rivals Monaco, there are not many players in world football that PSG are not linked with. There is a lot of uncertainty currently engulfing the Parisians, with coach Carlo Ancelotti known to be keen on the Real Madrid vacancy. Should the Italian's wish be granted, speculation has claimed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic would also be on the next plane out of the French capital, which in turn would make space for Suarez. While the departure of the Swede would be a dent for PSG, the blow would more than be eased by Suarez's arrival. It would also send out a real statement in terms of their ambitions for next season's Champions League.

Odds: 16/1

Atletico Madrid

While Atletico may not be able to offer Suarez the prestige that their close neighbours could, they can boast the fact that they have qualified for the Champions League. What's more, if the 26-year-old is seeking a challenge, there won't be many greater in Europe next year than replacing Monaco-bound Falcao, who has scored 70 goals in 90 appearances for Los Rojiblancos. His signing would be a real coup for Atletico because their supporters are known to be extremely disappointed by the departure of their leading goalscoring.

Odds: 25/1

Staying at Liverpool

Is there anyway back for Suarez at Liverpool? Well, if the club stand firm, he will have no choice but to return for pre-season at their Melwood training base. However, no team would want a disillusioned player on their hands for fears that he would disrupt the rest of the playing squad. If reports are to be believed, certain members of the Liverpool hierarchy feel let down by Suarez, having stood by him over the last two seasons despite suspensions for racism and biting. There is also the Liverpool supporters to factor in and many now feel that if the fee is right, it is time for the love affair to come to an end.

Odds: 4/1
