Maxi Rodriguez could rip up his contract and leave Liverpool.

Liverpool midfielder Maxi Rodriguez is reportedly considering ripping up his contract and leaving Anfield.

The Argentine is frustrated with his lack of playing time under Kenny Dalglish and will consider leaving the Reds if he fails to play to a stronger part in the team, according to the Daily Mail.

The 31-year-old has scored four goals in 10 appearances, which is more than the combined efforts of Charlie Adam, Jordan Henderson and Jay Spearing and the same number as Andy Carroll, who have all received more game time.

Rodriguez has just one year left on his contract and his advisers are keen to discuss all options as clubs in Spain and Argentina monitor his situation.

Liverpool could allow Rodriguez to leave as a measure of balancing the books as they look to bring in some new players in the transfer window.
