Kenny Otigba reveals Liverpool snub

Heerenveen defender Kenny Otigba says that he wants to develop more as a player before moving to the Premier League.

Heerenveen defender Kenny Otigba has revealed that he rejected an offer to join Liverpool last year.

The 21-year-old admitted that he would like to play in England one day, but wants to develop further before leaving Holland.

"My mom told me to go to Liverpool but my agent was more realistic. He said the Dutch school is better than the English," he told Voetbal International. "But English football has always been my dream."

Otigba, who was born in Nigeria, has earned international caps for Hungary at Under-21 level, but recently rejected a call-up to focus on his club football.

The youngster has made 11 appearances for Heerenveen this season, scoring two goals.
