Liverpool reportedly prepare to challenge Everton and Roma for Xherdan Shaqiri's signature.

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Stoke City midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri this summer.

The Reds are poised to challenge Roma and local rivals Everton for the Swiss international's signature, according to The Mirror.

Interested parties are able to trigger Shaqiri's release clause of £12m due to the Potters' relegation from the Premier League last season.

Stoke handed over the same sum to sign the winger from Inter Milan two years ago.

Shaqiri is currently on international duty with Switzerland and is due to travel to Russia for the World Cup with his national team.
