Leicester City, Southampton 'show interest in Wales star Joe Allen'

Premier League pair Leicester City and Southampton are the latest sides to show an interest in Liverpool and Wales midfielder Joe Allen, according to a report.

Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen has emerged as a rumoured target for Premier League pair Leicester City and Southampton following his impressive Euro 2016 showing.

The £15m-rated Wales international has been a key performer for his national side, leading the charge from midfield to guide the Red Dragons into the knockout stages of the competition.

Allen, who is said to have grown frustrated by a lack of playing time at Anfield under Jurgen Klopp, has already been linked with a move to Sevilla and former club Swansea City in recent days.

According to The Sun, however, both Premier League champions Leicester and managerless Southampton are looking to sign the combative 26-year-old following his standout displays in France to date.

The Saints in particular, it is suggested, are desperate for a new central midfielder following the departure of Victor Wanyama to Tottenham Hotspur, while Leicester themselves fear losing N'Golo Kante before their title defence gets underway.
