Liverpool 'to urge FIFA to allow Luis Suarez to train'

Liverpool will reportedly lodge a plea to FIFA to allow Luis Suarez to train with his club during his four-month ban for biting.

Liverpool are reportedly planning to contact FIFA to urge them to allow Luis Suarez to train during his four-month ban.

The 27-year-old has been issued with the sanction, which includes a nine-match international ban, after he was found guilty of biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup.

During the ban, Suarez, who has been linked with a summer move to Barcelona, is not allowed to take part in any football activity, which includes training at Liverpool's Melwood facility.

However, according to The Express, Liverpool will launch a plea to the world governing body to relax their position in order to allow the controversial forward to train with the Merseyside club.

Should FIFA deny the Premier League outfit's approach, Suarez will not be permitted to return to training until the end of October.

Reports have claimed that manager Brendan Rodgers and American owners Fenway Sports Group have given their support to the striker and will not consider a summer transfer unless a bid in the region of £80m is submitted.
