Lucas is one of eight Liverpool changes, with youngsters Trent Alexander-Arnold, Kevin Stewart and Ovie Ejaria all given a chance to impress in Jurgen Klopp's first XI.

Simon Mignolet, Alberto Moreno and Ragnar Klavan have also been handed starts after struggling for minutes in the Premier League this season.

Leeds boss Garry Monk, meanwhile, has kept faith with cup goalkeeper Marco Silvestri, leaving number one Rob Green on the bench.

Souleymane Doukara will lead the away side's line with support from Stuart Dallas, while Liam Cooper and Kyle Bartley are both selected in the Championship outfit's back four.
