Top 10 Premier League strikers of all time - #10

Sports Mole's countdown of the top 10 Premier League strikers of all time begins with number 10 - Robbie Fowler.

A man so revered at Anfield that they call him 'God', Robbie Fowler burst onto the scene as an 18-year-old in 1993 and quickly established himself as one of the Premier League's leading marksmen.

A goal on his debut was soon followed by a five-goal haul two weeks later, and his first hat-trick for the club arrived in just his fifth league outing. Twelve goals from his first 13 games set the tone and sent him on his way to topping Liverpool's scoring charts in his debut season.

Goal hauls of 31, 36 and 31 followed in his next three campaigns, and had it not been for a serious knee injury suffered in 1997-98, Fowler may well have been competing for top spot on this list.

The Merseyside marvel never again broke the 20-goal barrier in a campaign after the injury, though, and he eventually left Liverpool for Leeds United in 2002 after falling behind Michael Owen and Emile Heskey in the pecking order.

Fowler also spent time with Manchester City before returning to Liverpool in 2005, where he took his Premier League goal tally up to 163 - the sixth-highest total in the division's history.

Other career highlights include back-to-back PFA Young Player of the Year awards and helping Liverpool to four trophies in 2001 - the FA Cup, League Cup, UEFA Cup and UEFA Super Cup.
