Top 10 Liverpool strikers of the Premier League era - #7

Sports Mole's countdown of the top 10 greatest Liverpool strikers from the Premier League era continues with number seven - Dirk Kuyt.

Something of a cult hero at Anfield, Dirk Kuyt arrived on Merseyside in 2006 having forged a reputation as a prolific goalscorer for Feyenoord in the Eredivisie.

The Dutchman did not exactly fulfil that role for Liverpool, quickly being shifted out onto the right wing and becoming better known for his industrious style, but he still weighed in with some crucial goals for the club - including a hat-trick against Manchester United.

Kuyt's best goalscoring season for the Reds came when he notched 13 in 33 appearances in 2010-11 - one of three occasions he made it past double figures in a single campaign.

Rafael Benitez, Roy Hodgson and Kenny Dalglish all regarded Kuyt as a key first-team regular, though, and his contribution to the cause went much further than just putting the ball in the back of the net.

By the time the Netherlands centurion eventually left to join Fenerbahce in 2012 he had scored 51 goals in 208 league appearances for Liverpool.
