Burnley are reportedly in the race to sign Fluminense attacker Jhon Arias in January, with Crystal Palace, West Ham United and Rangers also keeping tabs on the Colombian.

Burnley are reportedly interested in signing Fluminense attacker Jhon Arias, with a host of other British clubs also keeping tabs on the player.

The 26-year-old has enjoyed a productive term in the Brazilian Serie A this season, scoring five goals and providing three assists in 24 appearances.

Arias has also played a crucial part in Fluminense's run to the Copa Libertadores final this year, with the Brazilian outfit set to face Argentine giants Boca Juniors in the showpiece match on the weekend.

The winger has featured heavily for Colombia since making his senior debut in May 2022, earning 10 caps including in the recent World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Uruguay.

According to TEAMtalk, Burnley are in the race to sign Arias in the New Year or during next summer's transfer window, although the Clarets face a lot of competition from other British sides.

The report claims that the Colombian is attracting interest from a host of Premier League sides, including Crystal Palace, West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

It is also understood that Championship duo Leicester City and Leeds United are admirers of Arias, alongside Rangers, who are looking to challenge Celtic for the Scottish Premiership crown.

All of the aforementioned clubs have reportedly been watching the attacker's performances this season for Fluminense, with the Brazilian club one match away from securing their first-ever Copa Libertadores title.

It is also believed that Vincent Kompany's Clarets and Arias's other suitors have been monitoring his progression on the international stage for Colombia over the past few months.

With the winger's current deal in Rio de Janeiro expiring in the summer of 2026, Fluminense are in no danger of losing the player for nothing in the near future.

Despite this, the report states that Arias could be available for a switch to Europe in the January transfer window, when the likes of Burnley will be looking to bolster their ranks.

The Clarets are currently 19th in the Premier League after winning just one of their first 10 matches back in the top flight, and only Sheffield United have netted fewer than Burnley's eight goals in the early stages of the campaign.

Lyle Foster is currently the club's leading marksman after making the net ripple on three occasions so far, with Kompany's men starting some matches without a recognised-striking option.

Burnley will aim to collect their first points at Turf Moor in the Premier League this season when they play host to Roy Hodgson's Palace on Saturday afternoon.
