Massimo Cellino refuses to rule out Neil Redfearn exit

Leeds United owner Massimo Celino admits that he is running out of time to make a decision over whether to axe manager Neil Redfearn.

Controversial Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino has admitted that he is unsure whether manager Neil Redfearn will still be in charge of the club next season.

The 49-year-old's future has been cast into further doubt following on from the news that Nigel Adkins has reportedly been approached to take over at Elland Road.

United assistant Steve Thompson was axed last month to the dismay of Redfearn, which sparked a five-match losing run.

Cellino has now refused to rule out overhauling the coaching staff further this summer, telling reporters: "Is Neil the best coach for the club next season? I am asking myself this every day.

"As a man I tell you I am sorry because I like him. In the club you have to take decisions. I don't need to justify my decision. I need to choose the best coach for this club.

"Is Neil best for the future? Are you sure that he's good or is it that you're a coward with the fans because you won't change it? The next coach, or Neil Redfearn, whoever is to be the coach, I cannot wait more. I have to take the decision because we are late. We are already late."

Leeds ended the Championship season sitting in 15th place in the table.
