Report: Gus Poyet a target for Leeds United

Leeds United are reportedly interested in making Gus Poyet their new manager this summer.

Leeds United have reportedly approached Gus Poyet about the possibility of becoming their new manager this summer.

Neil Redfearn's current deal expires at the end of June, and he looks set to leave Elland Road after his assistant was removed by owner Massimo Cellino, who has confirmed that talks over a new deal have not taken place.

According to The Mirror, Poyet is seen as an ideal candidate to replace Redfearn and Cellino has already started his bid to bring the Uruguayan to the club.

Poyet was sacked by Sunderland in March, and he is likely to seek assurances about the direction of the club due to the controversy which has surrounded Leeds since Cellino's takeover.

Leeds finished 15th in the Championship this season.
