Hull City caretaker boss Mike Phelan: 'We're struggling to get transfers done'

Hull City caretaker manager Mike Phelan admits that the club are struggling to finalise transfer deals in this window.

Hull City caretaker manager Mike Phelan has revealed that the club are struggling to get transfer deals "over the line".

The Tigers have had a tumultuous few months - manager Steve Bruce resigned three weeks before the season began, while a string of injury problems left the club with just three substitutes during their Premier League opener against Leicester City.

There has been more positivity in terms of results as Hull sealed a 2-1 win over the champions last weekend, but they have not yet made any new signings since earning promotion from the Championship in May.

"I mentioned last week that it could have been a big week this week but not a lot has happened," Phelan told reporters in this morning's press conference.

"We have been working hard but getting them over the line has been difficult. Everything gets tighter and tighter and the days are ticking away. We have just got to do our job, which is play football matches."

It has been reported that Hull have made an offer for Sion striker Moussa Konate.
