Simon Grayson explains Jordan Rhodes omission

Huddersfield boss Simon Grayson claims that Jordan Rhodes is suffering from a tight hamstring as he is left out of the team for their Championship opener against Cardiff.

Huddersfield Town manager Simon Grayson has claimed that Jordan Rhodes was left out of Friday's Championship opener against Cardiff City because of injury.

The striker, who scored 40 goals in all competitions last season, has been linked with a move to Blackburn Rovers.

However, Grayson told Sky Sports News that the 22-year-old was suffering from a "tight hamstring" after being on international duty with Scotland in midweek.

Rhodes scored on his first senior start for the Scots during their 3-1 friendly win over Australia at Easter Park.
