Hannover complete Melvut Erdinc signing

Saint-Etienne forward Melvut Erdinc joins Hannover 96 on a four-year deal.

Hannover 96 have announced the signing of forward Melvut Erdinc from Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne.

The 28-year-old, who has scored 82 goals in 256 games for four French top-flight clubs including Les Verts, has put pen to paper on a four-year contract with the Bundesliga giants.

According to Hannover sporting director Dirk Dufner, Erdinc's "mentality" should see the striker fit in well.

"We have worked intensively to complete this transfer because it was clear to us that Mevlut Erdinc embodies the type of striker that we want to have," the Bundesliga website quotes him as saying.

"His mentality suits us especially well. He's a team player and uses his dynamism and robust approach for the benefit of the team."

Hannover finished 13th in the Bundesliga last season.
