Fulham have held talks with Napoli midfielder Walter Gargano's representatives in the past 48 hours over a loan move to the Premier League.
Gargano is surplus to requirements at the Serie A outfit after failing to earn a permanent switch to Inter Milan following a loan spell last season.
Both Fulham and Atletico Madrid are interested in the 29-year-old, but the Cottagers have moved first and have planned further negotiations with Gargano's agent Alessandro Lucci in the next 24 hours, according to the Daily Mail.
During his time at the San Siro last season, Gargano passed 200 appearances in Italian football.
