Parma hit late to rescue draw against Fiorentina

Parma score with virtually the last touch of the match to rescue a 2-2 draw against Fiorentina in Serie A.

Parma scored a 92nd-minute equaliser to rescue a draw against Fiorentina in Serie A.

Giuseppe Rossi missed a fine chance for the hosts in the 26th minute when he failed to find the target with a header from just six yards out despite being unmarked.

Moments later Raffaele Palladino had a clear opening at the other end, but he fired his effort straight at the keeper.

The visitors took the lead right on the stroke of half time when Walter Gargano's low shot deflected off Gonzalo Rodriguez and past Neto.

Antonio Mirante was called into action in the 64th minute when he was forced to make a sharp adjustment to keep out Marcos Alonso's effort.

There was nothing the keeper could do a minute later, however, as Rodriguez rose highest in the box to nod home a Borja Valero cross at the near post.

The hosts then completed the turnaround with a little over 10 minutes to play when Juan Manuel Vargas slid in to turn a deflected strike into the net.

Parma were to get the last laugh, however, as Massimo Gobbi got on the end of a Jonathan Biabiany cross before heading home from close range.
