Everton 'to hold talks over future of manager Roberto Martinez'

The Everton board will reportedly hold talks this week about the future of under-fire manager Roberto Martinez.

The Everton board will reportedly meet this week to discuss the future of manager Roberto Martinez.

The Spaniard's job has come under scrutiny over the last few months due to poor results, which has produced the worst home record in the club's history.

The Toffees are currently 11th in the Premier League table, 18 points behind the European places with just four games left to play.

The Merseyside outfit also failed to reach the FA Cup final as they suffered a late 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in the semi-finals last weekend.

According to The Mirror, the axe could fall on Martinez if they lose to Bournemouth at Goodison Park this weekend, but chairman Bill Kenwright and major shareholder Farhad Moshiri will begin discussions this week.

The report adds that Martinez's future could be decided by the supporters as some have already called for the Spaniard to be sacked, while a handful are believed to be planning a protest at Goodison this weekend.

Everton have not won a Premier League game since February.
