Leighton Baines says that Everton's match against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend is not make-or-break in terms of their campaign for Champions League football.

Everton full-back Leighton Baines has played down suggestions that the Toffees' upcoming clash against Tottenham Hotspur is make-or-break for their season.

The Merseyside outfit could potentially move within one point of fourth-placed Chelsea in the Premier League table if they defeat Spurs at White Hart Lane on Saturday.

"It's a big game but there are plenty more after that and it won't be decided by next weekend," the Liverpool Echo quotes Baines as saying.

"We are the ones who are trailing and that probably means we are the least favourite of the teams but we are fighters. We won't stop believing and we will give everything we have got."

Everton have eight games remaining in their league campaign.
