Scottish Premiership roundup: Inverness Caledonian Thistle secure European place

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's Scottish Premiership action as Inverness Caledonian Thistle secure European football for next season by beating Dundee at Dens Park.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle will be playing in the Europa League next season after this afternoon's victory at Dundee wrapped up third place in the Scottish Premiership.

Edward Ofere's eighth-minute strike at Dens Park proved enough for Highlanders, who are now nine points clear of Dundee United with two games left.

The Tangerines missed the chance to tighten their grip on fourth in the table after they could only draw at St Johnstone.

Murray Davidson's late strike cancelled out John Rankin's opener at McDiarmid Park and means that the Perth side remain behind United on goal difference.

Ross County remain very much in danger of being dragged into a playoff with the promotion hopefuls from the Championship after slumping to a 2-1 defeat at home to already-relegated St Mirren.

With the scores level in stoppage time, keeper Mark Brown was sent off for bringing down Lewis Morgan in the penalty area, and Steven Thompson despatched the spot kick for his fourth goal of the season.

Hamilton Academical tightened their grip on seventh place after a late Greg Docherty goal saw them earn a point at Partick Thistle, who are now five points behind in eighth.

Results in full: Dundee 0-1 Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Hamilton Academical 1-1 Partick Thistle, Ross County 1–2 St Mirren, St Johnstone 1–1 Dundee United
