Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock says that he will speak to Chelsea regarding a potential loan deal for youngster Ethan Ampadu.

Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock has claimed that Chelsea youngster Ethan Ampadu would benefit from a loan period at the Bluebirds.

The 18-year-old has already established himself on the international stage with Wales, but the youngster finds himself down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea could use Ampadu in cup competitions, but Warnock feels that the versatile central player would be better featuring regularly in the Premier League at the newly-promoted club.

At a press conference, Warnock told reporters: "They should loan him to us. What I like about him is that he is so confident. He plays the game simple. He will have to quicken up a little bit when he gets higher up because he will get caught.

"He will get that by playing games. When you play with the type of players he has to play with it does help with his education. They have good players who could do with playing - and if they could get a game in the Premier League I think it would help their development."

Cardiff face Chelsea in West London on Saturday afternoon.
