Chelsea manager Frank Lampard acknowledges that he would like to make "a few additions" during the next transfer window.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has admitted that he wants to add several fresh faces to his first-team squad.

Despite having a two-window transfer ban halved before January, the Blues failed to make any new signings at the midway point of the campaign.

However, at a time when the West Londoners are being linked with the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Timo Werner, Lampard has acknowledged that he intends to make "a few additions" at the earliest opportunity.

Speaking to the club's magazine, the Englishman said: "I'm certainly excited about the squad we've got, with the young players and if we can get a few additions for areas I feel we need.

"We didn't bring in anyone in January, it didn't work out to be right for us at the time, and last summer we couldn't bring anyone in, so those windows are gone and we haven't changed.

"So I am excited about the squad we've got, if we can freshen up in the right areas we all know that."

As it stands, Lampard will need to find replacements for Willian and Pedro, who are both out of contract at the end of the season.
