Chelsea are reportedly ready to rival Manchester City for the summer signing of Eder Militao, who currently plays for Brazilian side Sao Paulo.

Sao Paulo defender Eder Militao has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Chelsea.

Militao only turned 20 in January, but the youngster has already established himself as one of the top prospects in Brazilian football.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is said to be interested in signing the player but according to The Mirror, the Premier League leaders face competition in Chelsea.

There is currently uncertainty surrounding the future of head coach Antonio Conte, but the Blues are expected to make significant changes to their first-team squad regardless of whether the Italian remains at Stamford Bridge.

As well as being impressed with the player's ability, Chelsea like that Militao is able to play at right-back, centre-back and in midfield.

Militao's contract at Sao Paulo expires at the start of 2019.
