Chelsea are reportedly looking to sign a new first-choice goalkeeper, putting Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga's futures at the club in doubt.

Chelsea are reportedly looking to sign a new first-choice goalkeeper next summer.

Since arriving from Rennes in 2020, Edouard Mendy has often been picked as Chelsea's number one, featuring in 65 Premier League games in his first two seasons.

While Kepa Arrizabalaga has often had to play backup to Mendy, the Spaniard has forced his way back into the side since Graham Potter's arrival, starting six consecutive matches before he picked up a foot injury.

Although Mendy and Kepa are currently battling for the number one jersey, The Sun claims that Chelsea looking to sign a new goalkeeper next summer.

The report claims that recruiting a striker will be a top priority ahead of next season, but Potter and Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly are also keen to bring in a world-class goalkeeper.

Despite Mendy and Kepa both being under contract until June 2025, Chelsea could allow the pair to leave at the end of the season, although Kepa's £150,000 a week wage may put off prospective clubs.
