Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez believes that Fernando Torres is a more confident player having ended his goal drought.

Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez has pinpointed confidence as the key ingredient for striker Fernando Torres's return to form.

Torres scored twice in his side's 3-1 win over Sunderland this afternoon to add to the brace he scored against Nordsjaelland in the Champions League midweek.

Benitez believes that these goals have given the Spanish striker renewed confidence, and insists that he will continue to score goals as long as he is given the opportunity.

"It's fair to say that we are watching now a Fernando with more confidence and with more belief, and at the same time, the team is the same way," said Benitez.

"I was analysing his movement before and we were adjusting little things. It's a question of confidence and just little different movements.

"I have said before, if the team plays well and creates chances, Fernando will score goals."

The win, Benitez's first in the league as Chelsea manager, sees the Blues move within three points of Manchester City, although they have played a game more.
