Chelsea must omit a member of their current Champions League squad in order to register three of their new signings for the upcoming round of 16.
The Blues have made five signings, adding Mykhaylo Mudryk, Joao Felix, Benoit Badiashile, David Datro Fofana and Andrey Santos in the January transfer window.
However, this has left Graham Potter with a dilemma, as he has more overseas players than he is permitted, with UEFA squad rules stating that a club can register no more than 17 non-homegrown players.
Clubs are permitted to add three new players to their squad before the registration deadline on February 2, and the Daily Mail reports that it will be likely be Felix, Mudryk and Badiashile.
The report also claims that Christian Pulisic or Hakim Ziyech could be the player omitted from the squad to make room for the new additions.
The issue does not affect Chelsea's Premier League squad as Fofana and Badiashile count as under-21 players and therefore do not have to be registered.
