Celtic to sign Ipswich Town youngster Kundai Benyu?

Celtic are reportedly closing in on the signing of Ipswich Town midfielder Kundai Benyu, who is out of contract at Portman Road.

Celtic have reportedly moved to the brink of signing midfielder Kundai Benyu from Ipswich Town.

The 19-year-old is out of contract at Portman Road and with no prospect of a new deal being agreed, he will leave the club this summer.

According to Sky Sports News, he has been in advanced negotiations with Celtic and it appears that he has all but decided to make the switch to Glasgow.

It had previously been suggested that teams from the Premier League were ready to take a chance on the player, despite not making a first-team appearance for the Tractor Boys, but it seems that they have missed out to Brendan Rodgers's side.

Benyu spent the final six months of last season playing in the National League with Aldershot Town, where he scored a total of five goals from 23 outings.
