Lothar Matthaus, John Toshack apply for Cameroon job?

Germany legend Lothar Matthaus and former Wales boss John Toshack are reportedly among 77 applicants for the managerial role with Cameroon.

Germany legend Lothar Matthaus has reportedly registered an interest in becoming the next manager of Cameroon.

In February, Hugo Broos left his role with the African nation and according to BBC Sport, as many as 77 people have applied for the position.

Matthaus has coached both Hungary and Bulgaria in the past but the 57-year-old has been out of the dugout since 2011.

Former Wales boss John Toshack is also said to be keen and his last role came with Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca, who he left in September 2016.

Ex-France coach Raymond Domenech and former Manchester United assistant Carlos Quieroz are also in contention, with a shortlist of three expected to be put together in due course.
