Tom Heaton commits future to Burnley with three-year contract

Goalkeeper Tom Heaton signs a new three-year contract with Burnley to keep him at Turf Moor until the summer of 2018.

Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton has committed his future to the Clarets by signing a two-year contract extension.

The 29-year-old, who was the first Burnley player in 40 years to be called up to the senior England squad last season, was due to be out of contract next year, but will now be at Turf Moor until at least 2018.

"This has felt like my home which has helped with my performances so I don't want to stop raising that bar and pushing myself to improve," Heaton told the club website.

"I really love playing for the manager [Sean Dyche] and working with the staff, particularly the goalkeeping coach Billy Mercer who I feel I've improved under and I'm really excited for the times ahead."

Heaton, who joined Burnley from Cardiff City two years ago, was linked with a move back to the Premier League this summer.
