Burnley manager Sean Dyche provides an update on Ben Mee's injury status, admitting he hopes it will "settle down" this week.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has provided an update on the injury status of Ben Mee.

The club captain was unavailable this weekend as the Clarets were defeated by Chelsea with goals from Reece James, Christian Pulisic and a brace from Kai Havertz leading to a 4-0 result.

Mee had been injured in the previous match against Leicester City, suffering a knock that forced him to be substituted within the game which Burnley went on to lost 2-0 with late goals from the Foxes.

"Hopefully it will settle down this week. It was a close one but it was not right, he could not walk properly," Dyche told the press.

"But it is a knock so hopefully that will be quicker to settle down, it is a bad knock, not a twist."

Burnley will be back in action on Saturday as they face Brentford in the Premier League, and it is unclear if Mee will feature.
