Bournemouth snap up Kenwyne Jones for remainder of season

Experienced Cardiff City striker Kenwyne Jones joins fellow Championship side Bournemouth on loan for the remainder of the season.

Championship leaders Bournemouth have strengthened their attacking options by bringing Cardiff City striker Kenwyne Jones in on loan for the remainder of the season, subject to international clearance.

The Trinidad and Tobago international has scored 12 goals in 35 appearances for the Bluebirds this season, although he has fallen victim to squad rotation in recent weeks.

Jones, who joined Cardiff last January as part of a swap deal which saw Peter Odemwingie head the opposite direction to Stoke City, boasts plenty of Premier League experience having played at the top level for both the Potters and Sunderland in the past.

He becomes the third high-profile player to be let out on loan by Bluebirds boss Russell Slade in recent months, with Adam le Fondre and Matthew Connolly also being shown the exit as the Welsh outfit attempt to cut their high wage bill.

Bournemouth currently top the Championship table, sitting one point above Middlesbrough who occupy third place.
