Gary Taylor-Fletcher hands Blackpool a 1-0 lead with a simple finish midway through the first half against Derby County.

Blackpool have taken a 1-0 lead into the break against Derby County thanks to a goal from Gary Taylor-Fletcher

The contest started quietly with chances a rarity, but Jeff Hendrick was unlucky not to hit the target with a fierce strike that deflected off Craig Catchart.

Blackpool took the lead from their first chance of the game as Taylor-Fletcher took advantage of space at the back post to tap home from close range following a clearance off the line.

Derby responded well following the goal, with both Jamie Ward and Chris Martin going close with their respective efforts from inside the box.

The hosts were given the opportunity to double their lead when Kirk Broadfoot was challenged by Craig Bryson inside the area, with the referee pointing to the spot after originally rejecting the appeals for a penalty.

However, Thomas Ince struck the post from 12 yards and Derby were able to clear the danger to prevent Blackpool from extending their lead.
