Nosa Igiebor strike sees off Villarreal

A Nosa Igiebor strike for Real Betis is enough to see off Villarreal in tonight's La Liga clash.

Nosa Igiebor scored the only goal of the game as Real Betis defeated Villarreal in tonight's uneventful La Liga fixture.

The home side had a golden opportunity to break the deadlock in the 29th minute when Joan Verdu's measured free kick floated over the area with nobody there to put it away.

Betis were in front just six minutes later when Igiebor was on hand to tuck away the rebound after Villarreal goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo parried an effort from Verdu.

Both sides struggled to create chances in the second half, but Verdu had a golden opportunity to wrap things up for Betis with five minutes remaining.

The midfielder found himself in a one-one-one situation with Asenjo, but the visiting keeper pulled off an impressive save to minimise the damage.
