Preview: Bayern Munich vs. Paderborn

Sports Mole looks ahead to Tuesday night's Bundesliga clash between Bayern Munich and SC Paderborn at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern Munich have not exactly started the defence of their Bundesliga title at breakneck speed.

Pep Guardiola's men have drawn their opening two away encounters of the new season, but they can at least boast a 100% winning record from their pair of outings at the Allianz Arena, which is where they will face SC Paderborn on Tuesday night.

Guardiola will still have to make do without the services of French winger Franck Ribery, who will remain on the sidelines with a knee injury. However, Arjen Robben is expected to return to the squad, although he is most likely to be included among the substitutes in Bavaria.

Elsewhere, having started the weekend's clash with Hamburg on the bench, Xabi Alonso, Mario Gotze and Robert Lewandowski are expected to be handed recalls, while Mehdi Benatia, who recently joined Bayern from Roma, may come into the defence.

As for visiting Paderborn, who currently top the Bundesliga, their attack should be spearheaded by German youth international Elias Kachunga. The pacey striker has three goals to his name so far this season.

These two sides have never met in the Bundesliga before, but they did clash in the DFB-Pokal back in 2001, with Bayern running out 5-1 victors, thanks in part to a brace scored by Alexander Zickler.
