Contract talks between Barcelona and Marc-Andre ter Stegen are complicated due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to a report.

Barcelona are reportedly keen to tie Marc-Andre ter Stegen down to a new contract, but negotiations have been complicated amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The 27-year-old will see his current deal at Camp Nou expire at the end of the 2021-22 season, and is said to be a target for Bayern Munich due to uncertainty over Manuel Neuer's future.

However, a recent report has suggested that Ter Stegen is one of three players safe at Barcelona for the time being, and the Catalan giants are looking to ensure the German's long-term future at Camp Nou.

However, AS claim that Ter Stegen is hoping to become the world's highest-paid goalkeeper, a feat which Barca will struggle to achieve when taking into account the financial implications of the COVID-19 outbreak.

The report also suggests that the Germany international is in no rush to pen fresh terms with the La Liga outfit, where he has kept eight clean sheets in 26 league matches this term.

Ter Stegen has made 224 appearances for Barcelona across all competitions since arriving from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2014.
