Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone is confident that Antoine Griezmann will still be at the Wanda Metropolitano next season.

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone is confident that Antoine Griezmann will still be at the Wanda Metropolitano entering the 2019-2020 campaign.

Barcelona are reportedly ready to make a U-turn regarding Griezmann and reignite their interest in this summer's transfer window.

However, Simeone has claimed that there is 'nothing that makes him think the Frenchman could leave'.

"I'll repeat, he's one of our captains. The club has made an enormous effort to keep counting on him. He's happy in Madrid, he's important to this team and nothing makes me think he's leaving," Griezmann told reporters.

Griezmann, who has scored 20 times in 43 appearances for Atletico this season, will see his current £200m release clause drop to £129m on July 1.
