Aston Villa are reportedly happy for Keinan Davis to leave the club during the January transfer window.

Aston Villa manager Dean Smith is reportedly happy for Keinan Davis to leave the club during the January transfer window.

With Danny Ings brought in as competition for Ollie Watkins, Davis had been due to start the season no more than third choice in the pecking order.

The 23-year-old's position in the squad had left him in line to go out on loan to a Championship club before he suffered an injury during pre-season.

However, after the emergence of Cameron Archer, the Birmingham Mail suggests that Davis will be given permission to find a new team at the start of 2022.

While Davis may get an opportunity to impress over the coming months, Villa's exit from the EFL Cup means that his chances will be limited.

Davis spent the majority of the last campaign playing backup to Watkins, his only Premier League strike coming in the last minute of the 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion.
