William Saliba is reportedly struggling to convince Arsenal chiefs that he could have a future at the club and may be heading for the Emirates exit door soon.

Arsenal defender William Saliba is reportedly facing an uphill battle to make a name for himself at the Emirates Stadium under Mikel Arteta.

The 19-year-old is yet to pull on the red and white jersey for a competitive fixture this season despite arriving in the summer amid plenty of optimism.

Saliba spent last season on loan with former club Saint-Etienne before arriving in the English capital, but the Frenchman has been restricted to appearances for the youth teams and was recently sent off against Wimbledon for the Under-21s in the EFL Trophy.

According to Eurosport, Saliba is unlikely to make an impact at Arsenal while Arteta is in control of the reins and could be set for a swift exit.

The teenager was expected to go out on loan again during the summer transfer window but ultimately remained at Arsenal, although the report claims that the powers-that-be in North London are not convinced that Saliba will cut it in the Premier League.

Saliba penned a deal at Arsenal until 2024 when he signed for the club last summer.
