Robin van Persie reportedly prices himself out of a move to Real Madrid and Barcelona by demanding wage parity with the club's highest earners.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are said to have been put off making a move for Arsenal striker Robin van Persie because of the player's high wage demands.

The 28-year-old, who is out of contract in 12 months' time, has stalled talks over a new deal with the Gunners until after Euro 2012.

Both La Liga giants are reportedly interested in signing Van Persie. However, he is believed to want to match the wages of the side's top earners Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, according to the Daily Mail.

Manchester City are also keen on signing the Dutchman but, with the implementation of UEFA's Financial Fair Play rules on the horizon, he may be pricing himself out of a summer departure.
